Saturday was a special day...it was a day of SLEDDING!!! Everyone had fun going down the hills. Sheesh...those hikes back up are a killer!! M squeeled the whole way down...she loved it! L cought some air...no injuries...just a smile and..."that was cool!" Hot chocolate and sugar cookies, too!

Pay it backwards
I was driving into work this morning listening to one of my favorite radio stations when the DJs starting talking about "Drive Thru Difference".
J&J had one of their guys out driving around this morning "Paying it Backwards"...going thru fast food drive-thru's and doing this while he was on the phone. He said as he drove away that he saw the guy that was behind him smile...and it only cost $1.08.
So..."Pay it Backwards"...wouldn't that be fun?

...guess where I was...yep, Twilight. It was fun to be there, especially with a friend who is a "Twilighter", too. I have major mixed emotions about it (maybe it has to do with exhaustion and 3hrs of sleep since I'm back at work this AM, I still had to be responsible).
I'm not gonna give a summary (you know how bad I am at that). I don't want to discourage anyone from going to see it for themself. On a scale of 1-10...I give it a 5.

I got "dissed"
{First...have you been wondering why you haven't received an invite to my "special/private" blog...OR...maybe you haven't. I'm still on the fence about whether or not I want to continue blogging...I love peaking into all of YOUR lives...so, until I take the time to officially "invite" who I think might want to possibly continue reading...I have something to share.}
ANYWAYS...
Have you ever tried to sell anything on ksl.com/classifieds ?(it's like this HUGE garage sale but on-line) I've posted quite a few items. Sold some rather lame and random things for a buck or two here and there. But NO ONE is interested in the good stuff...well, until this happened. (I will tell you though, the story is better with my animation).
We posted a bedroom set (queen with headboard AND footboard, 2 drawered night stands, a dresser with 6 drawers AND a mirror). Someone one called and after a couple of phone calls back and forth negotiating on the price, making sure they bring cash, where do we live, etc. Tuesday was THE day they were coming to get the furniture. So my sweet husband races over to the house to meet them while I make my travels home from work and picking up the kids from the 2 different sitters (don't ask why 2).
I get a call from...let's call him "dude"...and he tells me "you know what, we're not interested anymore. The furniture is beat up, used and just not in good condition". I of course quickly take the defense {they've been dragging this thing out over a couple of days to come and get it. I drove all the way down to AF (American Fork) for crying out loud on Sunday night to get it.} I said "well what do you expect? RC Willey? It's "used" furniture. WHATEVER!! I think it's in decent condition considering the price and all the goods you get with it.
What next???...phone call to Hubby, it went something like this:
Me: So what did you think of that "dude"?
Hubby: Oh, he was fine. He just left for the credit union to get the cash.
Me: Babe...are you for real? He just called me and told me he wasn't buying the furniture. He dissed us!!
Hubby: Well that sucks.
That's it. He just said OK. He doesn't get upset at things like that. I was furious!

I HeArT Collin Raye
My Hubby took me to the Collin Raye concert last night at the Desert Star Theater for our 7th Anniversary. It was AWESOME!! We had FRONT ROW seats. I could almost touch Collin's feet. Check out these great pictures...can you believe how close we were??? There were only about 200 people in the theater, so it was very intimate. Great show...just WAY TOO short. I swear on the video he smiles at me!!

Halloween is OvEr!!!
I just don't get into Halloween...and I definitely don't dress up (but I did wear a cute Happy Halloween shirt I picked up late Thursday night at Target...oh...and the pumpkin earrings...I did wear those...). It's just craziness...you want candy? What kind? I'll buy you your very own bag...can we just stay home? Thank heavens for Daddy's and Uncles who take the kids while the gals stay home and pass out the candy and make dinner.
This year we all congregated at Dustin & Janel's. (sorry Janel...didn't get a pic of you...dang...awesome costume). We had yummy "taco stew", chips and cheese! The best part (and I think I'm hooked) was GUITAR HERO! We all had a good time playing it together...tournament and all.

We've waited way too long...
to get carpet. I cannot believe the difference. It feels like a new house. Aside from the creeks that are still in the floor...which I wanted some to still be there (I can tell as soon as 'lil man gets out of bed). Don't judge...

Landen was totally shocked that we surprised him with tickets to the game. We told him 10 minutes before we had to leave. We told him he needed to go put pants on and grab a sweatshirt for the soccer game. He whined and said he didn't want to go...would you if you were playing the Wii with your uncle? He thought it was to go watch ME play soccer (yes, I play on a co-ed soccer team). I said fine...we'll take someone else to the ReAL soccer game. He quickly dropped the controller and got ready. The stadium is beautiful, weather was great, we had awesome seats (not a bad seat in the house really) and it was a fun game.
The best parts were when Landen would give me a hug and tell me "how cool" I was and that it was the best surprise ever.

I don't know why I waited so long to buy them now we're in the nose bleeds...hubby said he wanted to go...we've been watching it be built...doing drive-bys whenever we're in the area...the first game was played and we watched from home with envy...but now...Landen will be sooooo surprised...Saturday, October 18th, 7pm, Rio Tinto Stadium.

Tag...
I got tagged twice...OK...OK...I'll do it! This is the 4th picture I have in 1 folder of photos on my computer here at work (shhh don't tell my boss).
Landen was Harry Potter for Halloween 2007. He's a handsome kid and I love him to pieces. He's such a good, talented, smart kid and a great BIG brother, too. His imagination amazes me and it makes me realize I need to stop what I'm doing and notice the things he notices.

7 quirks
Thank you Rachel and Lisa for giving me this opportunity to reflect on the "not so great things about myself"...it has been enlightening and I didn't realize I really did these things...but they came to me really fast as I was reflecting...
1. When I'm bored sitting in church, work meeting, etc...I start typing in my head the words the speaker is saying (like they're dictating to me).
2. I HATE shoes, especially socks. Most of my shoes don't have backs on them. When I get new ones my hubby always asks when I'm going to purchase the rest of them.
3. I have to have RANCH with pizza. There is no other way to eat it. Especially with fries from Chilis or wings from Wingers.
4. I cannot finish a chapter in the middle...and then I have to be very careful not to read the beginning of the next chapter or I can't put the book down.
5. When I get in the car...I'm dialing someone (hubby, friend, the girls, the sitter). Always somethin' I gotta tell someone.
6. My house has to be spotless before I leave for an extended period of time. (what if something happens to me while I'm gone? I would be so embarrassed if my house was found a mess and someone would think I was not a good person cause I left my house a mess OR...I want to be able to tell whether or not someone has been in my house when I was gone because I know exactly where everything was before I left).
7. I, too, count the stairs in my house (but not the ones I tredge up everyday to get to work-3 flights). We have have 13...6 to the top and 7 to the botton (split entry). My hubby thinks this is funny. I just want to make sure I don't stumble down or up (it's happened before), especially since I'm always luggin' Meg with me.
So, there you have it. "My underwear is out there on the telephone wire".

Happy Birth...Lisa
Today is Lisa's Birthday. It was her turn to get pranked on for the balloons we did for Rachel's Birthday back in March.
I received an email a month or so ago about a group of folks who put post-its ALL OVER a co-workers car while she was on vacation. I thought it was HILARIOUS and CLEVER. I forwarded the email to Lisa and Rachel with a WARNING...cause guess whose birthday was next...LISA!!! We got her! We didn't do it as bad as the pictures I saw in the email, but this will be enough to keep her busy on her birthday.

LaZy DaYs...
So, had a little surgical procedure on Friday (woo hoo...free day off from work)...nothing serious...all is well...thank you for your concern. HOWEVER, I did score some great sympathy, sunflower cupcakes (thanks Rachel), my fav Chili's for dinner and the kids went to Grammy & Grampa's until Saturday...so I could rest...
The doctor said it would be like a big bad bruise (not that bad, but REALLY sore) and I took her recommendation of rest and relaxation VERY seriously!!! So...here is the list of movies I watched...(me a redbox became BFs). Not gonna give you a review as I'm NOT good at that...but I did like ALL of them.
(this was for the kids, I promise...it was LAME)
All that starting at 3pm on Friday and ending last night around 5pm. I won't even bore you with the "snacks". So...I'm fully rested...

I can't believe it...
summer has come to a quick HALT. School started TODAY...I'm NOT ready. Not that I've been spending the summer days lounging around the pool..taking adventures to the parks...doing clever crafts with the neighborhood kids...(yes...I am JEALOUS of a certain BFF...won't mention any names)...I work full time in an office that is usually FrEEEEzing...but we've had some good times this summer....MeMoRiEs.
My lil' guy is in 5th grade now. He's growing up so fast and it FREAKS me out!! I worry about the things his pure little mind will hear/learn from other kids...but then I worry...is he THE kid other Moms worry about?? No...not my kid...no way!!
