I can't believe it...

summer has come to a quick HALT. School started TODAY...I'm NOT ready. Not that I've been spending the summer days lounging around the pool..taking adventures to the parks...doing clever crafts with the neighborhood kids...(yes...I am JEALOUS of a certain BFF...won't mention any names)...I work full time in an office that is usually FrEEEEzing...but we've had some good times this summer....MeMoRiEs.

My lil' guy is in 5th grade now. He's growing up so fast and it FREAKS me out!! I worry about the things his pure little mind will hear/learn from other kids...but then I worry...is he THE kid other Moms worry about?? No...not my kid...no way!!

Fun at Seven Peaks!!

It's the weekend before school starts and we're packing in some fun, last minute activities and memories. We went to Seven Peaks Friday night with my brother Dustin, his wife Janel, and their sons Liam and Dane. The park is only open 4pm-8pm now and it was perfect. No big crowds, still warm weather and LOTS of fun! Megan was actually able to go down the waterslides with us and of course they're never fast enough for Landen (he loves speed).

 

We wore out Landen and Megan...they were asleep by the time we hit AF. Everyone had lots of fun...we only had two casualties. Gary and Landen flipped over on the way down. Landen got a "goose egg" on his head and Gary got a big bloody boo boo on his head and eye! But nothing a band-aid and the first aid station couldn't fix. It's always fun and games until someone gets hurt!

Took the kids to get photo updates at Target. Can't wait to see the prints!! Here are the emailed copies (not the greatest quality...but you get the idea). They are both growing up so fast. Enjoy.

Blogging

There are some HIL-AIR-E-OUS blogs out there. I love blog hopping. Just yesterday I was hopping around and found some good blogs. I was laughing so hard I was crying...the stories were so funny. I don't know if it was just my mood...the fact that I can relate to some of the stories...visualize them...or just the fact that the gal would actually blog about it.

I mean...HONESTLY...there are some seriously witty and clever women out there. They just put it out there...no fear...no shame...and I love it. I wish I could be as clever as they are...but I just can't share those things and make them sound funny in W-O-R-D-S. As most of you know me I am very animated and I use my hands a lot when I talk. I like to think that my life has humor and all that good stuff but dang...these women are funny.

Maybe I need to re-evaluate WHY I even have a blog. WHY?? I started doing it because I wanted an easy place to post pictures of the kids and all the happenings going on with out sending mass emails with attachments, etc etc. I'm not sure if the friends and family even check this. I've got a counter...people are obviously lookin' (you are right now...and you're counted!!)...not sure why or who they are...but here's our life...hangin' out there on a telephone wire...

There are gals out there doing this for a living...making serious $$s. Dang...that's cool! There are some that use it as their platform for whatever they want to say. There are some that are like me...just sharing with family and friends.

I did it...I finished "Breaking Dawn". I LoVeD this story. I absolutely adore Bella and Edward...that's all I'm gonna say. So in honor of finishing all 754 pages...I've changed my background...

Olympics JuNkIe

I have to confess...I am an Olympic Junkie!! I LoVe watching the Olympics...it's an addiction for the next 3 weeks. I know people have issue with it being in China and all that "stuff" but...I look past that and watch it for the competition and the comraderie of all the countries. USA is doing InCrEdIbLe. I get so emotional watching our athletes...I'm rootin' and cheerin' and for those of you that know how excited I get for someone...I'm on the edge of my couch.

Saturday AND Sunday we seriously watched TV from 9am to 11pm...not to mention the opening ceremonies. OK...OK...I didn't seriously sit on my kiester for that long. I was doin' stuff around the house, reading "Breaking Dawn" and playin' with the kids. Landen is hooked too...so much so that we go on line to get the schedule so he knows who is competing. He's learned a lot about the different sports and really gets into it. Go USA!!

We went to California this past weekend to celebrate McKenna's baptism. It has been a LONG time since all five of us kids (my siblings) have been together WITH our kids. We had a great time. My bro' Dustin put together this great Smilebox.
