linking up with these ladies...
Stephanie @ BEAUtiful Mess

i have been wanting to do letters like this for Megan's room for a while but didn't know exactly how i wanted them to look OR how to do it. THANK YOU Pinterest! it was so easy! i am so thrilled they are finally done!
1. decopouged the paper onto each letter
2. after it dried i used a nail file and tore/trimmed the paper off the edges
3. hot glue gun the ribbon in the same areas on the back where wholes were for perfect balance
4. bribe hubby to hang the rod even though he is nice a comfy on the couch watching the utah spazz on TV
5. finish them off with the bows at the base of the ribbon on the letter.
i love them!
*my daughter, megan, asked why i was hanging letters of her name on her wall ~ i told her "duh, cause it's cute! ~ silly girl

i've seen this receipe pop around a couple times, so finally i made it. served it up with some alfredo noodles and green beans. just ok
another dinner epic fail. why do some of these recipes look delicious but are not good? this one was way to mustardy for my families liking and the sauce did not look at all like the picture. family has asked me NOT to make this one again.

February 12, 2013

lately my weekends have been pretty low key and relaxing. we are so used to be on the go-go-go all the time (mostly during soccer season). normally i feel the need to plan something out of the house...but the weather has been soooooo cold here in Utah ~ so i only leave the house when necessary.

but, enough goes on that i still have things to InstaGram about (so that's fun, right?) here's my past two weeks in review:

i love it when my momma and i get to spend time together, just the two of us. i wanted to treat her for her birthday to a pedi and lunch, she always treats me. it was so fun to chat and catch up ~ sometimes i forget she's actually mom my by the way we chit chat and have fun together ~ people always ask if we're sisters.

exciting news ~ my momma received her mission call to service for 5 months as a nurse on a humanitarian mission. she departs April 7th and will be on a Navy boat and go to third world countries ~ Costa Rica, Peru, Jamaica, Honduras and some others. i am going to miss my Mom like cr-azy. but i know it's a dream of hers to do this...so who am i to hold my momma back, right? she'll be back at the end of August...which i'm looking forward to that day already!

a dear friend who I share "good reads" with passed this series on to me. it's by Gilbert Morris ~ The Lone Star Series. such a great series. i couldn't put them down and read all three in about a week and a half. loved it, highly recommend. iand didn't want the story to end and became so attached to the characters, I wanted it to go on and on...

my bestie and i love to digi scrap ~ scrapbooking on the computer using digital elements/papers using photoshop ~ so saturday night was the night. we joined a bunch of ladies at a hotel rented out by the organizer. digi scrap designers come and share their products and tips while we scrap to our hearts content. the project on my laptop i'm working is on our RESS family birthday calendar (finally). we learn, laugh, and get a lot scrapped ~ oh did i mention prizes...we have won cool prizes both times we've attended...great loot, too.

i received a little email in my inbox last week inviting me to the sneak preview of Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks. i had just read the book in january! it was such a great boo, so i was a little nervous to see the movie so soon. but, my bestie and I were able to get "hall passes" since we were out together the saturday night before together (see pic above).

date night with my hubby ~ i wanted a juice bacon cheeseburger from our favorite sports bar
RUMRZ at the district...and it was delicious!!

i created this 'be mine' banner while at my digi scrap night.
it's a cute addition to my other valentine's decor, too!

it was a hair bow kinda day today...do a simple ponytail but don't pull the end all the way through. split the bump in half, wrap the end of the ponytail that wasn't pulled all the way through around the middle and around the ponytail holder...and then secure with a couple more pontytail holders. ~saw it on pinterest

my darling sunbeams that i get to teach every sunday!
these are only 7 of the 10. their personalities are darling and they are so full of energy ~ it could be because i bribe them with jelly beans to keep them in their seats...
but i'll try anything for 2 hours cuz then they get to go sit with their parents for the last hour of church ~ he he he
